Last week in engineering
we learned each others
name and that was really
difficult for me
beavuse i am very bad at
memorizing names :(I only
came to engineering only
from tuesday because
I got my schedule mixed up.
On Wednesday we did or first
cahlege and that challenge was
to make a bridge made out of spaghetti
and wood glue.On Thursday we
worked on the formation of the
bridge and how working on how
it was going to look like. On friday
we acctually statred to learn
how to mkae a website on notpad ++
which was really fun.
August 17, 2016
Today we were working on our websites for the whole entire period which was good because i needed to
catch up. I tried copying NASA's websire which didnt happen beacuse it wouldnt let me. By the time we
got there it was already 12:
copying which was very fustrating. AFter I tried copying NASA's webiste I tried making my webiste go live with Dr.Neats assistant for the day.
I couldnt put my website live to the world because i wasnt registered to the class yet so that made me kind of mad.

Today my group worked on our speghetti bridge, we tested out first idea and i held a good amount of water.
AFter that we worked on another idea that we had inmind which was to make a bunch of triangles. Later on
when we were glueing our pasta together, i accident spilled glue on my cloths and it was very hard to get out.

Today we worked on our speghetti bridge again. we worked on different bridges that we can use for the challenge.
We messed up on our glueing beavuse we had to balance the pasta on this carton of milk to keep it up straight.
But we figured it out in the end.

Today was the day that I was almost late to 5th period because of where and me and my friend went for lunch.
We went to Deli Sis which is accross the street from 711. Its about 10 minutes away from school.
When I ordered my sandwich the "The CV special" I already knew it was going to take a while because
there wasd another 10 orders infront of me. 20 minutes passed and it was 12:47 and we had 8 minutes
to eat my sandwhich and get back to school. So we decided to eat the sandwhich on the way to school and we made
it abck with 1 minute to spair, and to day we learned about Sketch Up

today in class learned how to insert images into out websites which was hard because my internet
wasnt working on my computer.

Today my group worked on out speghetti bridge. We tested our 3rd bridge, we thought you was going to be successful but unfortunatley
our bridge didnt even cary the a gallon bottle.

Today is the first game for freshamn football. At the time i writing this, the game is about 2 away.
Last week we had a schrimage against Monrovia High School just for practice. We tied 14 to 14 and
it was a good game overall, but they fouled us a lot but there was no reff so there was no penalty
for the fouls.

Today we talked about the JPL invention challenge, the verterans that were workingon it
talked about it and showed us their ideas that they had for the challenge, many questions
were asked about how the water was going to be picked up and put the water in he vessal.
Most of the questions were asked by me because i was very interested in it.

On this day i went to one of my friends house, when we got there we imediatley go into the pool
and cooled off because it was very very hot. Well I slept over and the next i went to my friends
basketball game which he won

Today in class we worked on our websites, like we usually did. But in 6th period for football
we had weight room which was really fun because I liked to break weight records for myself on
the bench press.

Our class were finishing up our bridges beacuse the next day was the day we had to
see the bridge get broken into pieces. Our group did a triangle desing with a bunch of triangles
along the length of the bridge.

Today we tested our bridges which went pretty bad, we came in 6th place. Our bridge design could have been better
but our group tried out best. There are more Wedsnday Challenges so hopefully I can win one, and we had a minimum day which was awesome.

Today we had another Wedsnday Challenge which was a challenging one, the challenge
was to think of a device that could tell if its a dog or a cat, my group did'nt
win unfortunatley but the cool thing was that the judge was a girl that used to be
in the class but now she works for Microsft!

We worked on our websites and learned some new thing to do with
them like putting in a video. I didnt remember on how to put my
index into filezilla so i asked Maddie for help which is pretty cool.

Today was a Friday so I pretty happy about that, and we
started using sktech up which was pretty cool. I've never
used sketch up before so it was a struggle.

Today was a monday so that was pretty bad because in the mroning i had to wake
up at 5 am to go to the gym. I Lifted weights, I worked my Bigh Seps,
and Tri-Ceps.

Today was a Wednesday Challenge meaning its Wednesday. We had to cut about a 5
inch piece o wood into a 2 inch piece of wood, but at first i thought it would
easy but when then we got the results from and we were off even though we measured
and it said it was 2 inches but we were still off by a bit, no one got a perfet
2 inches.

Today we used Sketch up nd we learned how to raise of the cubes meaning to make
them bigger and raise the height. I built a city out of it so that was pretty cool.

Today we learned how to make a component on sketch up. Thank the lord he taught us this beacuse everytime I
tried to make a jenga block it would everywhere across the screen.

We learned something new in sketch up which was the move tool. We figured out how to move things like block and
make a stair case. I mad this big stair case called the Stair Way to Heaven.

Today we had another WC which was a fun one. The challenge was to make a card house whcih personally I love
doing. Whoever had the tallest house won the challenge. At first i was really bad it but then I got used to it
and I was on a roll. Sadly pour group didnt win and came in 4 place. wc1

Today we worked on sketch up and learned new things on it like how to make rounded edges.
At first my computer was being really slow so it was taking forever to do one action. After we
learned how to make the rounded edges, we made a playing card with knowledge of how to make
rounded edges.

Today we had another WC. The challenge was to make an exact 90 degree angle, with
3 straws. Which i knew it was going to be tuff because the WC that we had to make a 2 inch
wooden block and no one got it exact.

Today we worked on the WC which was to make a 90 degree angle. Yesterday
we just made a group which included Elisabeth, Raul, Mason, Evan, and myslef.
And we got the straws to strategize what we were going to do to win the challenge.

Today we had another Wednesday Challenge. We were handed 10 candy corns and one piece of paper.

Today was a fustrating day for me. I couldnt get my WC forms to show up on my webiste. Maddie
was a life saver and helped me for a good 20 minutes of the period. As you can see now you can

Today in engineering class, Dr.Neat showed a new project that we were gonna start working on.
The project was to make a presentation about a bridge. The history of the bridge and everything
that came to it. He showed us an example of one by him presenting a bridge he used to use when he was
a kid back in Washington

Today we were challenged on sketch up to make a lego block. It was pretty easy
because i know how to make the edges and the cylinders on top. Form making the card, pencil,
and pencil I had the knowledge to do it wiht ease.

Today we had another WC. The challenge was to make a Capital E. We sketched it up
and had the dimensions of the E. But the thing is that we would get somoene elses
E to make. We would get a sketch up of the E and make it. Today we just created the
sketch up of it.

Today we had the JPL invention challenge groups show us their devices.
My favorite group out of all them was the Kevin Arm. Ive always liked the Kevin Arm
since the start.

Today we worked on our WC. We reinforced our group with another one to make a 6 man team. Out
of the four E's that we made, we chose the other groups E because it was made better then ours.
But we were the ones that desinged it.

Today we worked on the WC form for the E for the whole day. And we had to get a pictureof the E
too. I finished the WC form early so i got to catch up on my webiste and made it a lot more
fun and cool.

Its Wednesday so we had another WC. We were handed to masses that were labeled 1 kg.
Our task was to determine which one was the real 1kg. We had 3 minutes to weigh the
two masses to see which was one was actually 1kg. We decided that that the ratio was
3 to 1. But we figured out later that it was 4 to 1 instead.

Since we dont have school tomorrow we had the JPL Invention Challenge come and
present there devices to the class. For me personally I think that Cole's device is
going to do the best. There was barely and splatter of water, and it was quick.

Today we worked on our E Wc Forms, I already did mine so I had to
work on the 1kg WC form. After we are done with the form we had to take the
picture of the E and post it on our website. And the Sketch Up of the one
we designed.

Today was another day that we worked on our websites. I tried attempting
to do something with the title of my Website. I tried makinf the words
rainbow colored but it didnt end so well, they were so far apart so it
didnt look as good as I wanted it to be. So I blew off the idea.

Following up on the bridge project, today we chose the bridge that me and
Raul wanted and that was the Vasco da Gama Bridge in Portugal. Well
Raul had to back into the Shop today so I couldnt work on the project.

Today was another Wednesday Challenge. We were handed wto metal slides, about
1 inch by 2 inches. The challenge was to have them stick together and have
weight trying to split them apart. All of us came in a tie because
everyone had the mazimun weight.

Our mission as a class was to complete the WC form for the one we did
yesterday. Overall it was a fun WC because it trained us for a temporary
fix for anything like a car or something with your house.

Today is the first day back from our Thanskgiving break and I am very tired. We just
learned something new in sketch up which was the rotate tool. And with this tool
we are supposed to make a sketchh up of out bridge that we made about for our
qauter WC. Its gonna take some time but I thik that I can get it done.

We had the JPL invention group come and tell us about the results of the
semi finals. No one made it to the finals that is gonna be at the JPL itself.

Today was Wednesday so we had a WC. Were handed 1 marshmellow, one pretzel stick, and
1 graham cracker. The challegne was to build the highest construction and who ever had the
highest would win the challenge. We designed a part that was just straight up crackers,
37 half crackers stacked up on top of eachother.
December 1, 2016
Since we didnt get it build the building that we designed, my team had to build someone
else's desing and it only went up 7 inces. I had to leave early because my mom could not pick
me up any other time. We still dont know who won.

We had a sub today in class so it was a chill class period. All we did was work on our websites
and watch an episode of Myth Busters. Whiel watching I worked on my Arch Bridge Sketch Up.

Dr.Neat was telling us abot finals and everything that we were gonna do for it.
and it is pretty simple, we are gonna do the same exact thing that the JPL invention
challenge group. But it isntead of 2 meters it was gonna be 1 meter. We were
thinking of the Kevin Arm but sideways.

We had another day to work on our final, we decided to change our idea and all
I'm telling you is that we are goijg to have a polly method, ourselves pulling it.
And the only problem with that is that we have to do the whole 2 meters, which isn't
that big of a deal.

Following up on our final project. We had the idea of having a 2 meter pcv pipe at an angle
and then some tipe of funnel at the top. Were gonna have a rope that somone
is going to the pull and then the cup will poor the water into the pipe and the
the water is gong to go down and into the cup.

Our group bassicly did nothing because we had nothing to since we didnt have the materails
to start the "machine". So we just went on our phones and listened to music.

Our group was figuring who was gonna do what and who is gonna bring what materails to start
building the "machine" I made the decision to bring the carboard boxes that we were
gonna need to support the 2 meter pcv pipe. I just dont know where to get them.

I totally forgot to bring the cardboard boxes but atleast our partner brought the main
thing that we needed, which was the pcv pipe. Today was gonna be the day that vut the pipe
into 2 meters instead of 3. When we cut it we had extras so we just put it by the other
extra pcv pipe the JPL invention challenge group had.

Today I got the news that Mr. Miller graded websites and I was totally about the
my website beacuse all of my focus was getting an A for our final. My goal was
atleast to get a B in this class and I havent seen my grade in a month so who knows.

Today is the first day of school back from break and I have mixed emotions about coming back.
Im excited, anxious, and sad at the same time. Im really excited to see my friends but I'm also
sad because I have to wake uo at 6:30 everyday. It is going to take some time for me to get used to
it since Ive been waking up at 1 pm everyday. But speaking about today in class all we did was
talk about the robotics game and what it is.

Today is wednesday so you have a Wednesday challenge to do. First Dr.Neat told us what was the challenge, it was
to take a cardboard box and cut it exactly 1 foot by 1 foot. Then he told us our groups which only consisted of 2
people instead of 4. So my group to the box and attempted to cut it. I over thought and messesd up the whole entire
